What is Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance?

An important and potentially life-saving part of Ford SYNC is Emergency Assistance*. It puts the mind of motorists at ease and will be delivered as standard as part of Ford’s SYNC in-car connectivity system. In the unlikely event of a severe accident, where the airbag is deployed or the fuel-pump is deactivated, the SYNC technology can use a Bluetooth®-paired and connected mobile phone to directly call the Emergency Services for you. During this, you can choose to stop the call if no assistance is required, or talk to the services if you need to.

How does it work?

The SYNC system will supply crucial information to the services (such as your GPS coordinates, even if you are unconscious), taken from the on-board GPS unit, map and mobile network to pinpoint the location of the accident. Once the message has been repeated twice, Emergency Assistance leaves the call open to allow for the services operator to communicate with the car occupants.
