Double Cab-in-Van

As with the Van, you can choose two or three seats in the front row. In addition, the Double-Cab-in-Van offers an extra fixed row of three seats, behind the front row. Then a fixed glazed bulkhead separates the second row of seats from the loadspace.

Ford Pass Pro

A small electric motor can improve efficiency The Transit Custom is available as an EcoBlue Hybrid. This technology helps to reduce fuel consumption and lower emissions, with a small battery-powered electric motor providing extra support to the combustion engine when needed. Kinetic energy and regenerative braking recharges the 48-volt hybrid battery while you drive.
The best of both worlds The Transit Custom Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) utilises two separate power sources. A battery-powered electric motor drives the vehicle, while its 1.0L Ford EcoBoost petrol engine works to recharge the hybrid battery and extend the vehicle’s range. The driver can select between three available EV modes, including EV Now which allows you to drive with zero emissions on electric-only power, to a targeted range of 35 miles. The PHEV battery can also be recharged using most AC network charging points.
Ford Transit Custom PHEV EcoBlue Diesel engine
Efficient diesel technology The New Transit Custom features a range of 2.0-litre Ford EcoBlue diesel engines, with four available powertrains offering up to 185 PS of horsepower. And with an AdBlue® catalytic reduction system converting NOx exhaust gas emissions into nitrogen and water, every engine meets the stringent Euro 6.2 emissions standards too.
Exterior The Transit Custom has a dynamic and professional front-end appearance with a high-mounted trapezoidal grille and dynamic, slim headlamps.
Headlamps Style and visibility LED daytime running lights and automatic headlights Highly energy efficient, these advanced daytime running lights provide a signature look that sets the Transit Custom apart: they’ll help get you noticed during the day and seen clearly at night. Failing light at dusk, or when there’s a sudden change in light conditions triggers the automatic headlights to turn themselves on, aiding the driver in darker conditions. Also, Auto High Beam temporarily dips your headlights when it detects oncoming traffic or a vehicle ahead, stopping you from dazzling other drivers. It then automatically reverts to high beam, giving you maximum visibility.
Wing mirrors Wing mirrors that can protect themselves To avoid accidental damage, power-foldable mirrors fold inwards when you’re parked. Tucked back, they also protect the stylish integrated indicators.
Parking sensors Sensors that take the stress out of parking Front and rear parking distance sensors help you judge the distance between your vehicle and obstacles in front or behind you. When the sensors detect an object, they activate a visual and audible warning that intensifies the closer you get to it.
Interior Durability meets practicality with the Transit Custom. Its generous loadspace gives you exceptional access to make lighter work of loading. The well-crafted cabins clever design provides plenty of storage with a range of smart technologies at your fingertips, so you can use the cabin as a comfortable mobile office.
Cargo restraints More practical, more secure Tie-down points are usually mounted on the floor. But they can be hard to get at when you’re trying to secure your cargo. So, Transit Custom has tie-down points positioned just above the floor on the sidewall of the load space. This leaves the floor clear of obstructions, making access easier, eliminates dirt traps and allows for the new easy-clean load-floor liner. Additional fixing points are provided at waist and shoulder height, built into the structure of the vehicle, and can each take an impressive 30kgs of load.
Storage Your office on the move The flexible dual front passenger seat comes with easy-access under-seat stowage that’s big enough to store a laptop, files and other useful office accessories. On Trend, Limited and Sport series, the seat is available with a fold-out table, stowed on the upper part of the centre seat back. This table has a useable area of 345 mm x 240 mm which means you can easily place a laptop or clipboard on it. The fold-out table also features two cup-holders, a pen recess, and an elastic restraining strap.
Super-strong bodyshell Maximum protection Boron and other high or ultra-high-strength steels make up more than 40% of the Transit Custom’s bodyshell, including parts of the passenger safety cell. This makes it extremely light and crash-resistant. The design of the bodyshell has also been optimised, using over 4,500 computer simulations and 30 full-vehicle crash tests.
