Transit Custom is powered by a range of all-new Ford EcoBlue 2.0 litre TDCi engines. Each offers more power and torque over its predecessor. Remarkably, they’re more fuel efficient and have lower emissions, already complying with stringent new Euro Stage 6 emissions legislation.
More power and capability. Yet cleaner and more economical to run: Transit Custom makes sound business sense.
All-new Ford EcoBlue TDCi engines
Engineered to meet strict Euro6 emissions standards, the Transit Custom’s all-new Ford EcoBlue 2.0 litre TDCi engines combine outstanding performance and power with lower fuel consumption and emissions, from as low as 6.1 L/100km (46.3 mpg) and 157g/km CO2 with optional Start/Stop. To lower running costs further, service intervals are now up to 36,000 miles or 2 years. Available in three power outputs of 105 PS/ 360 NM, 130 PS / 385 NM and 170PS / 405 NM, there’s an option to suit your needs, whether you carry light loads, operate at full payload, or need to tow.
Greater performance. Reduced emissions
Transit Custom’s all-new Ford EcoBlue 2.0L TDCi diesel engines comply with the stringent Euro6 emissions standard, which specifies a 55% reduction in nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions versus the Euro5 emissions standard.
An additive that removes pollution
A Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system uses AdBlue®, a urea/water-based fluid to convert NOx emissions in the exhaust gas into nitrogen and water. A particulate filter then reduces more than 99% of emitted solid particulates from the vehicle’s exhaust. To operate correctly, the AdBlue® tank of your Ford EcoBlue diesel engine must be filled with AdBlue® fluid. System warnings illuminate when fluid level becomes too low. For more information, please refer to the Transit Custom Owner’s Manual.
Use less fuel with Auto Start-Stop
When your van is stationary, such as at traffic lights or idling in a queue, this optional technology automatically switches off the engine (while still supplying power to essentials like the ventilation and radio) then restarts it the moment you're ready to move. The system is extremely effective if you do most of your driving in Urban areas, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10% (urban cycle).
A smarter way to re-charge your battery
Unlike conventional systems, Smart Regenerative Charging only charges the battery when it needs it and, whenever possible, avoids doing so when you’re pressing the accelerator. This can help save even more fuel and reduce emissions further still.
Acceleration Control helps you drive more economically
This innovative new option controls the rate of acceleration of the Transit Custom according to whether it’s unladen or part-laden. As a result, you can expect to lower your fuel consumption by up to 15%, depending on your usual driving style. The technology can also help reduce the amount of wear and tear on the engine, brakes and tyres, among other things.
Shift Indicator for fuel-efficient gear changes
A light on the instrument panel tells you when to change gear for maximum fuel efficiency. It’s a simple but effective way to help make every journey more economical.
Transit Custom is filled with ingenious and practical features that will help you work more easily and efficiently. Its generous loadspace enjoys exceptional access to make lighter work of loading and unloading.
Transit Custom is also engineered to keep ownership costs to a minimum, with outstanding service intervals of up to 36,000 miles, or two years. So not only will it help make lighter work of work, it will also save you money.
Unique, load-through storage area
The Transit Custom has a unique feature designed to extend its load space. A full height, full width bulkhead divides the load area from the passenger cabin and this bulkhead has a flip-up panel at floor level. This means you can load items up to 3m long through the rear doors and into an extended storage area under the van’s dual passenger seats, even in the short wheelbase version. This smart feature enables you to keep valuable materials inside your vehicle, rather than on display on the roof.
Integrated Roof Rack improves convenience, economy and noise
A unique, innovative roof rack simply folds flat when not in use. As well as saving you the hassle of bolting on and taking off a conventional rack, it also helps save fuel because of reduced drag and gives you a quieter ride with less wind noise.
Different roof heights
The L1 H1 version provides a cavernous 6.0 cubic metres of loadspace with a bulkhead fitted and the L2 H1 offers 6.8 cubic metres. Both models are also available as a H2 (high-roof) version, increasing the distance from loadfloor to roof to an impressive 1.76m and creating a maximum load volume of 8.3 cubic metres on the largest L2 H2 model.
Specially designed protection for your load floor
An optional easy-clean load-floor liner means you don’t have to install your own covering. This heavy duty floor makes it easy to slide goods in and out, makes sweeping and cleaning quicker and easier and will help maintain the residual value of your van.
Better lighting for easier, safer loading
Optional super-bright, energy efficient LED lights for the load area are invaluable when you’re working in gloomy conditions. They’re another simple, yet practical, innovation.
More practical, more secure cargo restraints
Tie-down points are usually mounted on the floor. But they can be hard to get at when you’re trying to secure your cargo. So Transit Custom has tie-down points positioned just above the floor on the side wall of the load space. This leaves the floor clear of obstructions, making access easier, eliminates dirt traps and allows for the new easy-clean load-floor liner. Additional fixing points are provided at waist and shoulder height, built into the structure of the vehicle and can each take an impressive 30kgs of load.
Superior loadspace and access
Transit Custom’s superior loadspace can be seen in all three dimensions: load length, width (from wheel arch to wheel arch) and usable interior height. As a result, it can easily carry standard 8’ x 4’ boards flat on the floor, three euro pallets and, thanks to its unique load-through storage area, items up to 3m long. Overall, the van provides a cavernous six cubic metres of loadspace with a bulkhead fitted – and that’s just the short wheelbase (L1) version. The long wheelbase (L2) offers 6.8 cubic metres. The sliding doors also have a new checking mechanism which holds them securely open for loading.
Improved service intervals
Transit Custom’s Ford EcoBlue TDCi diesel engine is exceptionally economical, durable and reliable. Components subject to normal wear and tear have been designed to go for longer without needing maintenance. For example, oil sump capacity has been increased on front and rear wheel drive derivatives. Service intervals are now up to 36,000 miles or two years.
Peace of mind with an anti-perforation warranty
The Transit Custom is backed up by a reassuringly long, 12 year anti-perforation warranty.

The Transit Custom Van
The Transit Custom Van is a functional load carrier, with a full-height, full-width bulkhead (glazed or unglazed), which separates the loadspace from the cabin, and the choice of two or three seats in the front. You can specify single or twin sliding doors and choose hinged rear doors or a tailgate.
As with the Van, you can choose two or three seats in the front row. In addition, the Double-Cab-in-Van offers an extra fixed row of three seats, behind the front row. Then a fixed glazed bulkhead separates the second row of seats from the loadspace.
The Transit Custom Kombi is even more versatile than the Kombi Van. In fact, it offers more than 30 different seating arrangements. It has the same Flexible Rear Seating system but with an extra – third – row of three seats. With all the seats present, you can carry up to nine people. As on the Kombi Van, the seats can be folded and rolled together to take up less space. And it’s quick and easy to create a generous load area: just fold any or all of the back row seats and move them forward, until they’re right behind the second row. If you prefer, the seats can be taken out altogether, giving you maximum load space.
