Operating a large passenger vehicle comes with a unique set of needs and responsibilities. So the Transit Minibus is specially designed to fulfil this specific task. It incorporates many innovative, ingenious and thoughtful features, all there to maximise the comfort, convenience and safety of everyone on-board.
Ford SYNC lets you control your music and mobile phone calls, using simple, direct voice commands. You can play songs from a USB or MP3/iPod® too, or when you’re streaming music from a Bluetooth®-compatible phone. The system can even read your incoming texts aloud and, via SYNC with AppLink, you can access mobile apps from your supported smartphone.
With Adaptive Cruise Control technology, you choose the speed you want to drive at and the system will maintain it. If the built-in RADAR sensor detects a vehicle ahead, it will slow the Minibus to maintain a pre-set distance. Once the road in front is clear, the system will accelerate to your chosen speed.
Bollards, railings, low walls…The rear view camera shows whatever’s behind you on a screen built into the centre console and activates automatically when you select reverse gear. The system also displays virtual guidelines to help you park into the smallest of spaces.
Transit Minibus has sensors that detect failing light at dusk, or when there’s a sudden change in light conditions. For example, if you enter a tunnel. This triggers the auto-headlights to turn themselves on, which can make driving both easier and safer. Auto headlights are available as an option with rain-sensing wipers.
An ergonomically designed driver’s seat includes optional armrest and lumbar support. It’s also heated and is 10-way electrically adjustable. So it’s easy to find your ideal driving position, or change it for different drivers.
Overhead luggage racks now add greater versatility to the Transit Minibus range
Available as an optional extra with the high roof option on the L3 models and it is standard on the L4 460 model
LED reading lights are standard as part of the luggage racks
Lane Keeping Alert is available as standard on all 3.5t plus Van and Chassis and Minibus models
Designed to recognise when you approach the road markings without using the indicator and alerts you with vibrations through the steering wheel
An optional separate air conditioning system is available for the rear passenger compartment. The system has its own rotary controls and two, foot-level outlets are also provided for each row of seats.
If you’re indicating and turning into a road, or pulling into a parking space, this feature can help make it safer. That’s because a light within the headlamp, on the turning side, automatically illuminates the side of the road to give you enhanced visibility through the turn.
With reclining seat backs and armrests fitted as standard on the Trend series, your passengers can sit back, relax and enjoy the journey.*
*Not applicable to back row quad seats: not available on Base.
Premium-look tinted glass is fitted as standard and fourth-row passengers can enjoy the comfort and ventilation provided by an opening window in the side load door.
An optional 150 Watt, 230V socket is located between the driver’s and front passengers’ seats: ideal for charging laptops or other equipment without the need for special adaptors.
A range of 2.2 litre TDCi HD diesel engines 125PS or 155PS RWD and which are Euro VI compliant , with 6-speed transmissions, deliver high levels of power and torque along with exceptional fuel efficiency to keep your running costs low. These advanced powertrains are also engineered to make journeys smoother and more relaxing for drivers and passengers alike.
Shift Indicator for fuel-efficient gear changes
A light on the instrument panel tells you when to change gear for maximum fuel efficiency. It’s a simple but effective way to help make every journey more economical.
Auto Start Stop
When your Transit Minibus stops at traffic lights or is idling in a queue, this optional technology can automatically switch off the engine (while still supplying power to essentials like the ventilation, radio and Ford SYNC with AppLink). When you're ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, and the system restarts. Auto-Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10% (urban cycle).
Acceleration Control to help you drive more economically
This innovative optional system controls your vehicle’s rate of acceleration according to whether it’s unladen or part-laden. As a result, you can expect to lower your fuel consumption by up to 15%, depending on your driving style. The technology can also help reduce the amount of wear and tear on the engine, brakes and tyres, along with other components.
You don’t have to pay a high price for wanting impressive levels of equipment, comfort and style: the Transit Minibus is made to ensure that running costs are kept to a minimum.
From hardwearing, durable and often easily replaceable parts, to extended service intervals, long warranties and highly fuel-efficient engines: a Ford is designed to make the most of your valuable investment.
Long service intervals for less time off the road
Every part and component of the Minibus is made to maximise durability and go for longer without needing maintenance. That’s why service intervals are set at 30,000 miles or 2-years.
A long anti-perforation warranty for extra reassurance
As a measure of the vehicle’s build quality, the Minibus comes with a 12-year anti-perforation warranty as standard.
Made to keep repair costs low
Tough bodyside mouldings help protect your Minibus from accidental damage and a smart rear bumper assembly is multi-piece, so the parts are easy to replace: helping to keep repair costs to a minimum.
